The Fly Killer

The only person who understands me today, is this person that I mentioned in my last post, The Meaning of Life,  because she came back, actually had never left me, she came back as the person she was before.  People come and move out of our lives trying to make sense of what we have, whether its worth their time, we on the other hand evolve and understand who our true friends are.  When you are truly down and out, that's when you realize the worth of this argument, imagine a world where there are Cloaked Faces and Vulnerable Faces, the Cloaked Faces hide their true selves from the Vulnerable Faces till the time is ripe for them to reveal the underlying malice.  When that happens cannot be predicted but it does happen, and normally happens when the Vulnerable Faces are in dire straits, their life is being upturned and its normal progression has been interrupted by an unforeseen turmoil.

"What will happen in life, I am just the same, life is going as routine, work, home, crib about work at home, eat and sleep and get back to work," she said with an urgent smile on her face, trying to calm her nerves.
"A lot can happen, but I am happy nothing has happened adversely."
"Mandy, I am still the same person, though a lot has happened during these past months."

There was this wind blowing and the clouds had gathered above, the Mcdonald banner was being hurled left and right by the wind, the tetherings were all that were barely managing to hold the sway and hold it in its place.  People were teaming in, Mac served the most standardized breakfast around the world and the food quality was impeccable, though the coffee left a lot to be desired.  There was this young women in a Shalwar Kameez, a red colored one, and she was at the counter arguing over the coffee, she had all the trappings of a modern woman with two mobile phones in one hand and a snazzy looking Gucci handbag.  The onlookers were all enthralled by the argument, the weather seemed just right for some drama and the lady was providing it.  Towards the right, there was an open window with two rows of seats, looking outside anybody would see the Khaadi Gram Udyog, the home for traditionally spun attires and accessories.  A man outside was staring at cars while they miled around the intersection, almost in trance.  Everybody inside mirrored his trance, it was almost one sheep following the other, picking up trays of hot food and beverages like zombies and walking to their tables to eat.  There was a constant buzz at the entrance, there was this "fly killer" device installed there, that buzzed every time it caught a fly unaware and in an unwarranted location.

"People are like bees," I said monotonously staring at the crowd.
"You mean they sting ?"
"Yes, also they create hives."
"Interesting Mandy"
"Met this friend today who has got a new job after 3 months of unemployment."
"And ?" she cooed at me asking for more information.
"He suddenly found his voice today."
BUZZZZZZ, another fly had been killed, this is number 9000009000 of the day.
"How come ?"
"For three months he has been servile, today when I told him about the 1000 Crore Solar project, he spoke up."
"What did he say ?" she knew I wasn't sounding too pleased about this friend.
"He said, you won't be able to do this project.  That we were too small and incapable of doing large projects.  I was offended but didn't reply back, after all, he had found his voice."

People always are notorious for being different when they are confident as opposed to when they are down and out.  Confident people build hives, while when they are down and out they begin to suspect their capabilities and hide behind other people.  True worth is defined by your ability to handle situations when times are bad, not when you have everything going for you
I have only one life, how long can the bad times last.
